Executive Justice, Re-Animated
I have revised my third (final) novel in the Executive series to reflect the dismal aftermath of Trump’s re-election. The premise of my first version was that America broke up due to red state secession after his defeat. In this one I reverse the script. His authoritarianism and criminal behavior prompt blue states to secede, along with neutral (white) states, and the Florida Keys. Trump becomes the chairman of the red states, which are a facsimile of the old confederacy. The plot remains the same otherwise.
Charley Boyd works in Orlando, Florida for an electronics firm and has become a CIA spy monitoring red state chicanery like ransomware schemes they need to supplement their meager income. He has been arrested, and his parents fly to Orlando to find him. They will recruit help from old friends like Horace Bascom, who has moved to Key West from chilly San Francisco—to enjoy the gay culture in a warm climate. Others like Charley’s sister Donna join the quest while Cal and Carol work through the authoritarian Confederation of Free States.
When Trump invades the neutral midwestern states an international intervention ensues. Cal and Carol flee to the Keys and then attempt to leave on a rescue ship to avoid a threatened Confederation invasion. The Reds sink their ship, and they are held with hundreds of prisoners of the Confederation. Trump demands a trillion-dollar ransom and surrender of the Keys. Donna takes charge of efforts to rescue them from prison, Cal in Fort Lauderdale and Carol in Miami women’s prison. Oscar Lopez joins the team and plans to free Charley during his transfer from Florida to Guantanamo.
Further twists and turns ensue leading to a tragic conclusion. I hope everyone enjoys my hopeful take on America’s emerging authoritarian dystopia. I suppose the few existing copies of my original version will be attractive to science fiction collectors.

PS, my newest novel, Venoms is in final edit. It is a medical themed take on the early seventies reintroducing Max and Jan King and extending to the Golden Triangle in Southeast Asia.
